 The agency offers crisis and respite care, peer support, playgroups, support groups, kids club & holiday ventures and other flexible forms of respite care.

General Programme
0 – 14 years.
Provides Emergency Crisis Care for children in Macarthur Area

Special Needs Programmes
0 – 19 years.
Provides home based respite care for children & adolescents who have a disability who live in the Macarthur/ Wollondilly Local Government Area.


Peer Support Programmes
15 – 65 years.
The Peer Support Programmes aim at meeting social, recreational & leisure needs of adolescents or young adults who have a disability living in the Macarthur Wollondilly Local Government Areas. Activities operate in various ways these include large, small groups and one to one links.

Respite Access
This programme is aimed at meeting the respite care needs of service users who have a disability and their families. This programme provides support where there are no other appropriate services available or previous service provision has broken down. A major feature of Respite Access is flexibility and aims to meet needs of clients in the most positive & least restrictive manner

Breakaway
Operates during school term and is aimed at meeting needs of pre-school aged children who have a disability. Breakaway runs two days per week by a trained coordinator, supported by a group of trained volunteers. Tuesday from 10am to 1pm and Thursdays 10am to 2pm. Transport can be provided for parents without means of transporting child to & from Breakaway.

This programme aims to provide a high quality recreational service to families who care for a child or children who have either a physical and or intellectual disability aged between 5 – 18 years. Runs during school holidays and provides a combination of community outings and centre based activities for children with a disability in the Macarthur Area. All referrals are made aware that placements cannot be guaranteed a placement every school holiday period.

Sunflower Cottage
This cottage provides a warm and homely environment for children between the age of 0-12 years with disabilities, who have high support and medical needs. The cottage operates from Friday morning to Tuesday morning. The Sunflower Cottage operates on a twenty-four hours basis to provide the flexibility to meet the needs of the individual child/ children and their family.

Flexible Family Respite Packages:

This is short term and time limited breaks from the caring role while providing meaningful activities for the person with a disability. Includes In home care, Community Access/out of home, individual / group programs, Daytime / overnight stays, Holiday services / vacation care. There is a Flexible Respite Panel which reviews, prioritises and allocates flexible respite referrals in the Metro South Region.

Fees for placements

There is no set fee for families using our Crisis General Care Programme. However, a parent donation of $5.00 per day for each placement is required for all programmes except the Sunflower Cottage which the nominal fee of $10.00 per day is required to cover some costs.
