Volunteers for Peer Support

 

If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer the Peer Support Programme are always looking for people to provide a quality recreation and leisure service for people with disabilities. This service also provides respite for both the person with disability and their unpaid carers.

You will assist and support in meeting the needs of people with a disability (members) whilst attending Peer Support Activities. Some of the tasks involved include supporting members to access the community through assistance with money handling, mobility, communication. Also include role modeling appropriate behaviour for members and providing a peer support and interaction. A maximum of 16 hours per week on two evenings at varying times is required.



Orientation and ongoing training is provided by M.D.T.F.C. for all Volunteers. All Volunteers must undergo mandatory Police & Working with Children Checks.
